Recession? Where? Not here in America. During the five-day period between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday 196.7 million Americans shopped until they dropped, the largest number since the National Retail Federation started gathering such data in 2017. The economy grew at an annual rate of 2.9 per cent in the third quarter, after shrinking earlier in the year. And the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s well-regarded GDPNow model is predicting 4.3 per cent growth in the current, final quarter of the year.
